8th Grade Homeroom
Middle School ELA & Social Studies

Ms. Jessica Sheppard is an ELA and Social Studies teacher for middle school. She is a graduate of Salem State University, holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, with a minor in Psychology, and graduating with the honor of Summa Cum Laude in 2020. She also holds a Master of Arts degree, also in History, from Salem State University, graduating with honors in 2022. She is a current member of Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Alpha Theta honor societies and was inducted into both societies in 2019.

Ms. Sheppard began teaching at The Islamic Academy for Peace at the beginning of the school year in 2022. Her educational philosophy revolves around the idea that every child is entitled to a superior education, with teachers that will work to help them realize their potential. She approaches the education of her students with the same seriousness and vigor that she approached her own. Her goal is to spark a love of reading, writing, and learning in her ELA classes, and the love and respect of history in her Social Studies classes. Her plans are to have all her students reading and writing above grade level by the end of the year, in order to be formidable competition in those areas inside and outside of the school setting.
