Weekly Bulletin

03-25-2022

Assalamu Alaikum Dear Parents,

Please join me in welcoming the new board members, Brother Rashid, Brother

Abubakkar, Brother Alaa, and Brother Omar Rafik. We are very excited to have

them onboard and look forward to being part of what lies ahead for TIA.

At the same time, we would like to recognize the decades of work and commitment that Brother Saban, Brother Bashir El-Darwish and Brother Louqmane have for TIA as founders. They believed in TIA when there was just an empty building not knowing where to start. Alhamdulillah, with the grace of Allah

and the help of respected members of the community as well as parents who believed in the vision of establishing an Islamic school for their children, TIA came to exist and continues to educate generations of young Muslims.

Jazakum Allah Khair for your vision, your efforts, and your commitment to Islamic Education.

I invite you to get in touch with TIA’s board of Directors and offer your help in your area of expertise. Share your ideas and your insight on how you can help in fulfilling the mission of The Islamic Academy for Peace.

TIA’s mission statement:

"The Islamic Academy for Peace strives to provide young learners with foundations of academic excellence, Islamic values and exemplary ethics to become righteous leaders of the community for generations to come".

Thank You

Dr. Nadjette Lazzouni

TIA Science Fair

Masha Allah! All students worked hard on their science projects and it was very much impressive to see their efforts they took to present their projects. Even our little bunnies

participated in the science fair doing fun activities of science and watching the older grades presentations.

Kudos to all the students!

Ramadan Survey

Jazakallahu Khairan to all the parents who submitted their responses to the survey. As per the survey, we have decided to do a late start (Drop-off will be from 8:35 am-8:55 am and Dismissal will be at 3 pm).

Also, the Spring vacation will be postponed to the week of April 25th (April 25th until April 29th) followed by Eid break (May 2nd until May 6th). School will resume on May 9th, 2022.

Grade 7/8 Tall Tale Presentations

Grade 7 and 8 worked on creative writing where they created their own original tall tales including character, plot, lesson and moral. They acted out their story to Grades KG through G3 along with

costumes and props created by their artistic director Ms. Tracy Bowermaster.

Message from the Student Council

Allah SWT said: “…This is by the grace of my Lord! to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful! And if any is grateful, truly his gratitude is (a gain) for his own soul; but if any is ungrateful, truly my Lord is free of all needs, Supreme in honor!”

From here we are first and foremost grateful to Allah SWT for all he has blessed us with including our community and school. Student Council advisers and members would like to thank you very much for your generosity and support. MSA, we have made about $860 from the chips and salsa event. Alhamdullilah, we will be able to sponsor two dinners for the homeless and make two sandwich bags for Bread and Roses or Lawrence. May Allah multiply your rizk and reward you.

While Student Council's members do a lot of charity work, its members indeed have some time for fun! They had a snow tubing trip to McIntyre Ski Area in NH. May Allah bless them and their families for the time and efforts with the Student Council.

Thanks to the PTO

Many thanks to the PTO members for rewarding us with wonderful gifts for Ramadan. May Allah accept it from them!
